When a new character is created on Dreu Noctem, they will receive the following items, for free:

List of Items

AFK Widget
AFK Party Leader Boot
ATS Tradeskill Journal
PC Autofollow Widget
PC Emote Wand
Who Rod
Spell Sequencers

Lost or Missing Kit Items

Old characters without a full kit, or characters who lose these items, can replace them in-game fairly easily. The ATS Tradeskill Journal can be replaced by visiting most ATS Vendors, and the other items can be found by visiting the Healer in North Shore, the Paradan Weaponshop, the Fort Achaea Weapon Shop, the Bifrost Shoppes, the Giedi Vendor, of the bartender in the AFK Lounge.

Item Descriptions

AFK Widget

This allows a PC to go to the AFK Lounge, or to return to playing from the Lounge. You must not be in combat to use this widget. Characters with old Widgets may find that the widgest disappear on entering the Lounge; in that case, see the bartender for a (non-disappearing) replacement.

AFK Party Leader Boot

If your party leader is in the AFK Lounge, any of the Player Housing Areas or crafting, you can boot them from the party with this item. This is sometimes necessary to use the Soul Stones, which have their functionality tied to the location of your party leader.

If your party leader is AFK in another part of the mod, you will have to reform a new party without them in order to change leadership.

ATS Tradeskill Journal

This is used by characters who craft to track their skill levels. It is not necessary for other characters.

PC Autofollow Widget

This widget can be used and targetted at another PC or a pet in order to place your character in autofollow mode. You will follow your target until you issue another command to your character.

PC Emote Wand

A wand you can use to perform different in-game emotes.

Who Rod

This rod will tell you who the various PCs are in game, their levels, where they are adventuring, and who their party leaders are. This can be useful to help find people to adventure with.

Spell Sequencers

New L1 characters of the Bard, Sorc, Wizard, or Druid classes get Spell Sequencers on creation. They can also be purchased at the AFK Lounge.

Spell sequencers can remember a sequence of spells; simply cast your spells with your inventory open and target the sequencer item with the spell. Using the sequencer, with the same spell set in memory, will queue up castings of the spells in the sequence for you. The target for all sequenced spells is yourself, so this is ideal for self-buffing.

There is also now a Targetable Spell Sequencer stone, which can be used to buff party members or summons. It works and acts the same as the regular sequencer, only this one requires a target.

That's really helpful - thanks Dave and Co.!

Where can the already-created-but moldy-and dusty characters get their hands on the kit?

Hey Joe! smile.gif

Read the part of the post about lost items - it's under the second colored heading. That should set you up.

One of the updates we're incoporating into the mod now that we've updated to require HotU is to patch our DMFI package up to the latest version. We currently use .03, but will be moving to version 1.07 (which requires HotU). I'm hoping to have this update done by the weekend, but some other stuff is higher up on the list of priorities.

Some of the resources provided by DMFI include the PC Dicebag, the PC Emote Wand, and the Autofollow Widget, (all mentioned above in the first post in this thread). DMFI also adds support for some neat voice-based commands. A lot of these features are implemented in our current DMFI, but are more efficient and better documented in the latest update.

Speaking of "better documented", I'm posting below the pc_readme.txt from the DMFI v1.07 pacakge (link above). The package also includes a PDF with this information if you care to snag a copy for reference. Note that we do not plan to provide PC player access to language widgets, but you should still be able to access your racial and/or class languages, as described below, without a widget.

Is there a particular reason that most (if not all) of these items are no drop? I'm just curious, because I can be a neat freak when it comes to my character's inventories, and the fact that I can't even put them in bags drives me bonkers at times.

/me has some weird tendencies, and knows it smile.gif

That's the way DMFI and BioWare implemented them. We can make new ones droppable, if it's a popular request. If we do that, we can probably also make an OOC NPC in AFK to upgrade old bits to new, droppable bits, if you like, but it will take some time to find the time to do that.

If you want to start a poll or something go for it. ohmy.gif

You know what, forget it. smile.gif You make it sounds like such a timely process, hehe; I'd rather playing alongside you in-game rather than feeling guilty about making you all code trivial, useless things. tongue.gif

With that said, thanks for giving it a serious read. No matter how bad of an idea it was initially. cool.gif

Added a note about Spell Sequencers. Special thanks to arQon for designing them and customizing them for us so that casters under L13 can use them.

Try after the next update. I think I came up with something simpler to make them droppable, heh. *duh*

Nope. Not possible.

arq-clarify> Sequencers are for spells. Songs and Turning are Not Spells: they're class abilities (likewise, Barbarian Rage, Summon Familiar, and so on).
