Yeah, but read Em's post. High killer tends to be skewed towards high "griefing" by that poll. So low killer doesn't mean you don't like a fair match. smile.gif

I have to admit, Kamehameha! (Individual) was a reflection of my dissatisfaction with the poll.

Hmm. Since I'm one of the "new breed" that's bringing a desire for RP (over H&S or Epic Adventuring or Designing or Crafting or any of the many other things you immortals do...) to the world, this is probably pretty obvious...

I'm not particularly into RP. If other people are RPing and invite me to join them I'll stump up the minimum of character to fit in, but I'm not really into long heavy RP sessions or extended "shirt-sewing". NWN is a computer game, to me, first and foremost. I'm happier discussing tactics or sharing info about a world, but I don't feel the need to put on a big red beard and say "Hi ho!" because I'm playing a dwarf. I really enjoy good team play against difficult opponents.

Can't STAND single player computer RPGs. Multiplayer is where fantasy genre stuff excels. I picked up NWN off the shelf 3 years ago because it said "You too can build your own worlds and play them with friends!" on the box, not, "You too can spend hours listening to large-breasted American-accented elves simper at you".

- I'll rescue your puppy, because I am a Good Paladin and brave of heart!
- I'll rescue your puppy, because I am an Evil Blackguard, but I expect a reward!
- You expect me to reward you? You fiend! But here, take 200gp!

Give me strength tongue.gif

Not really that into PvP either, but I very much likes games that are freeform, so if I'm not playing on a world that expressly forbids it, I more or less expect it to happen at some point.

Tried the link to the survey, but it's not working now. Ah, well. Thought I'd add my remarks anyhow.

I enjoy RP very much, but I believe it's better suited to PnP games, where the interaction is livelier and more spontaneous. That's not to say I wouldn't RP online, but I would let the situation determine my response.

Not into PvP at all. In my opinion, there's really no such thing as PvP - there's only PK. PK is based on winning at all costs versus other players - not my idea of a good time.

However, when it's player vs. environment I do a complete reversal and become much more vicious. Then winning really is the only thing. Kill them before they kill you, in the most efficient manner. Tombstones mean failure, hopefully a temporary one so that I can adjust my strategy and at least recover my losses.

Fortunately, exploring the environment doesn't always come under the "player vs." scenario, and that's what I've found I enjoy most here. Poking around towns and chatting with NPCs is entertaining, and the environment of DN shows impressive attention to detail.

Regarding socializing, it's hard to say, because I haven't been involved in too many party situations yet. Communication is they key to both good RP and success in the quests or plain old monster bashing, though.

So, to sum up:

RP: situational
PvP: not at all
PvE: machine
Exploration: important
Socializing: working on it
