What character were you playing: Piffany!


Please describe your observations: Setting up my Sequencer (THANK YOU!!!!) I found I could not add my domain spell Barkskin to it. I tried casting it by aiming as well as casting it directly into the sequencer.


Why do you think it's a bug: Only spell that wouldn't go in. Note Barkskin went into Elendars (Druid) sequencer no problem.

Pure speculation:

There is a set of known Bioware bugs wherein domain spells have all kinds of issues. One issue is the inability to script decrementation of a domain spell, which may or may not be getting detected and trapped by arQon's system.

A lot of domain spell bugs supposedly are fixed in v1.64. Our beta mod does not have this stuff installed, but I'm willing to update our Beta mod if you're willing to patch, log in, and go test it. If that is the case, the only fix may be to wait for the 164 update.

arQ may have commentary as well.

I could find time tomorow to pop into the Beta version. Think it could be updated for then?

If there are specific other issues I could test for you just let me know, and we'll tackle them while I'm patched up...

My guess is that it does actually add it, but it doesn't SEQUENCE it when you activate the item afterwards.
AFAICT, you are considered to not have the spell prepared, so it isn't added to the action queue.

After I update the regular mod tonight, I'll synchronize the beta then, so it should be good to go late tonight, np. I should bump the DN patch notes thread in the beta forum when I have this done. Basically, if you see anything in that beta forum you can help test, please go for it. If I get this done early enough, I can log in with you and we can test a few multiplayer/DM things and such.

One thing I'll plan to try to remember to do is dump a couple [dm only] test tools into the beta somewhere convenient like the AFK bar store. A levelup tool and a traveller tool are available to help test some of the otherwise time consuming stuff.

I can't verify for sure now (at work) but I distinctly remember not getting the message that the spell was sequenced, when I cast it into the sequencer.

Ok, on the beta DN, the sequencer adds Barkskin correctly, but does not cast it when activated.

OK. In that case, please report this to Bioware.

The bug is that the BW function GetHasSpell() does not work with cleric domain spells. The sequencer thinks you have not prepared the spell, so it aborts trying to cast it to avoid wasting actions in the buff queue. GetHasSpell() returns false for domain spells, even if you have them prepared. [known bug with v1.62]

Please send an email to nwbugs@bioware.com with "v1.64 Beta 3" somewhere in teh subject line.

Vanyra tested her sequencer stone last night and wasn't pleased by the fact that she can only cast 1 spell out of the 7 she had created.

Here's what she prepared (in this order, roughly):
Aura of Glory
Death Ward
Bless Weapon
Bull's Strength
Eagle's Splendor
Protection from Evil
Greater Magic Weapon

Out of the list, she only cast Protection from Evil successfully and balked at casting the rest.

I tested all those spells except Aura of Glory in v164 and they worked fine. Did you have them memorized?

The bug is definitely not fixed by v1.64 patch for Clerical Domain spells. Mage Armor and Stoneskin both failed to cast with spares memorized on my Magic Domain girl in v1.64.

We may need to wait and hope for v1.65+ to fix this to get a "clean" workign systemm. I haven't had time to work on any ugly hacks to try to make it work.

Moved to Bioware bug forum. We can probably doa workaround, but it won't be trivial or pretty. Bioware fixing the underlying bug will make it all go away seamlessly. smile.gif

This bug also means pally spells do not work with sequencers.
